Cal & Catta is a concept brand focused on home furnishing goods. The name is inspired by the Italian marble, calacatta. The project consists of visual brand identity development and the creation of website reflecting Cal & Catta’s brand and values.
Visual Identity
Cal & Catta’s visual design stems from the characteristics and attributes that embody calacatta marble.
Calacatta is a sophisticated and high-quality marble known for its display of luxury and popularity among architects and designers. The name is derived from a Greek word that means “to sparkle, flash, and gleam.”
Logo
The Logo features two distinct fonts: Maryam and Brother 1816. A Script and Sans Serif respectably. The script is used for the ampersand to capture the elegancy of calacatta marble, while the Sans Serif is used to reflect minimalist high-end aesthetics.
Color
The brand’s color palette was chosen to reflect the colors of calacatta marble. The marble is white with gray veining, while often having brown and gold undertones. The gray veins are deep and dramatic and can have subtle hints of dark gray, brown, gold, or even beige. The dark blue is added to reflect elegance, richness, and sophistication while reaffirming trust and integrity.
The theme consists of a simple, warm monochromatic that reflects the true color of the marble.
